Appraisal

The renewal period is 90 days before the last day of the month in which the license expires. Any license not renewed during the renewal period will expire, and late fees will apply.

Licenses are valid for two years. The expiration date is printed on the registration and can also be found on the Division’s Licensee database.

If you already have a professional license or business registration in Utah and have an existing UtahID, you must use that login information for your renewal. If you DO NOT have an existing UtahID, you can create one here. 

After you log into your UtahID account, you will be directed to a dashboard where any licenses you MAY hold for Commerce will be listed. If your Appraiser registration is NOT listed you will then need to link your Appraiser registration to your account by entering your registration number. Failure to do so will result in a DELAY in the renewal process, which may result in late fees. 

CE hours that have been recorded can be found in your UtahID account by clicking on your license number. When reviewing your CE, please ensure you do not have any duplicate courses, as CE courses cannot be taken in the same renewal period. 

To renew you will need to click on the three dots under Actions of the license you want to renew. A list of options will pop up then click on renew license.

• Prior to renewing, you must complete education totaling at least 28 hours of certified Appraisal Continuing Education Courses, including the 7-hour National USPAP Update Course

• • In State Education: Qualifying and Continuing Education (CE) courses taken in Utah must be certified by the Division at the time the course(s) was/were taken.
  • Out of State Education: Qualifying and Continuing Education (CE) courses that were taken outside of Utah that have not been certified by the Division MAY QUALIFY for credit. Complete and submit a Non-Certified Continuing Education Credit Request Form if you would like your non-Certified out of state CE considered for credit. Such requests should be submitted to the Division of Real Estate no later than 30 days prior to the licensee’s license expiration date.

• $100 Renewal fee

Education must be taken by the 15th of the month of renewal in order to ensure an on-time license renewal.

Expired and renewed within the first 30 days;  A $50.00 late fee in addition to the renewal fee.

Expired 31 days to 12 months; A $50.00 late fee, a $50.00 reinstatement fee,  in addition to the renewal fee.
