Expired Active for Principal Broker
RELMS will no longer be used for Renewals. Please read through and use the instructions found below.
The renewal period is 45 days before the last day of the month in which the license expires. Any license not renewed during the renewal period will expire, and late fees will apply.
Licenses are valid for a two-year period. The expiration date is printed on the license and can also be found on the Division’s Licensee database. If your license has been expired for more than one year please contact the Division at (801)530-6747.
If will be renewing your license on Expired Inactive Status please visit our instruction page here .
Renewal requirements must be completed prior to renewing your license. Your license has expired, so you are unable to work as a licensee until the license is reinstated. Your renewal is subject to audit for compliance with all renewal requirements.
CE Requirements for Expired on Active Licenses
Complete 18 hours of certified Real Estate Continuing Education Courses (CE) every renewal cycle.
- Minimum 6 hours of Core Topic Courses
- Any 3-hour Mandatory Course (Mandatory Residential, Mandatory Commercial, OR Mandatory Property Management)
- 9 additional hours of either Core or Elective Courses .
Additional Requirements for Expired Renewal for Principal Brokers
When your Principal Broker license expired, your company was inactivated. To reactivate your company you will need to upload your Real Estate Trust Account information, you can find the requirements for this documentation here .
You will also need to prove that your company is active and in good standing with the Division of Corporations and Commercial Code. You can find that documentation by logging into your account with the Division of Corporations and Commercial code here .
NOTE: If any of the required information is missing, it WILL DELAY your renewal. If you need help with what you need to upload, please visit the sites above using the provided links
If you already have a professional license or business registration in Utah and have an existing UtahID, you must use that login information for your renewal. If you DO NOT have an existing UtahID, you can create one here . You MUST use the email address you currently have on file with the Division of Real Estate.
All licensees, Active or Inactive, MUST renew their license online using their UtahID account.
After creating your UtahID account, log in to your Online Management System using the same log in information you used to create the UtahID account. You will then be directed to a dashboard where any licenses you MAY hold for Commerce will be listed. If your Real Estate license is NOT listed you will then need to link your Real Estate license to your account by entering your license number. Failure to do so will result in a DELAY in the renewal process, which may result in late fees.
CE hours that have been recorded can be found in your UtahID account by clicking on your license number. When reviewing your CE, please ensure you do not have any duplicate courses, as CE courses cannot be taken in the same renewal period. The Division does not "manually add" CE hours to your account; please contact your education provider if you believe there are reporting errors.
To renew you will need to click on the three dots under Actions of the license you want to renew. A list of options will pop up then click on renew license.
