Apply for a Sales Agent License
Important
All online applicants must have a UtahID to access our application system. If you have a professional license or business registration in Utah and have an existing Utah ID, please use that login information for your application. Otherwise, when you create a Utah ID, please use the email you used for testing with Pearson Vue. Failure to do so will result in a DELAY processing your application. Instructions for creating a UtahID account can be found here: idhelp.utah.gov
To become a licensed Real Estate Sales Agent, an individual must:
- Meet the statutory licensing qualifications of honesty, integrity, truthfulness, reputation, and competency (Utah Code Annotated 61-2f -203(1)(c)).
Note: Administrative Rule R162-2f-201 provides additional detail about how an applicant’s criminal history and other relevant factors affect the applicant’s qualification for licensure; see R162-2f-201(1) and R162-2f-201(2) . - Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application and provide a valid social security number.
- At a minimum, have a High School diploma or its equivalent.
- Take 120 hours of approved education at a certified Real Estate Pre-License School as outlined in the Real Estate Pre-License Education Curriculum.
- Take and pass the Real Estate Sales Agent Exam within one year of completing the required pre-license curriculum and submit the license application within 90 days from the exam pass date.
- Once steps 1-5 have been complied with and completed, please create a UtahID account and apply for your Real Estate Sales Agent License here .

NOTE: If the exam was taken in Utah and you registered with Pearson Vue to be fingerprinted, when your fingerprints are taken, they will be electronically submitted to the Division. If the exam was taken outside of Utah, or you were unable to have your fingerprints taken at Pearson Vue, you will need to be fingerprinted by a police station or fingerprinting vendor of your choice on two FBI FD-258 fingerprint cards. Both cards will then need to be mailed, parcel delivered, or hand delivered to one of the following addresses:
